Progress – Day nine
So progress… Only two runs under my belt and things are happening, the good news is my bum and thighs are starting to firm up (Missus) the bad news is my ankle is already a bit sore. But hey that’s part of getting fit no-one said it was going to be easy. I reckon most people are looking for a quick fix but really there aren’t any, I’ll take quick fixes if they work – but generally they’re only minor – but mostly improvement only comes from hard work. Was it Emile Zatopec (I’ll spell check that one day) who said “Always Pain” perhaps not.
Well the no smoking is going well, no smoking, can’t say fairer than that. My dose is a bit sore as it’s just realised it’s not got an inch of tar to line it, but mostly I’m surviving and bits of me are jumping back into life. My temperament seems to be slowly settling and hopefully my dander will be dampened forever now. Unlikely but let’s hope that the nasty bits are behind me now. I’ve not used a patch since Monday, I’m trying not to use them again but I’ll carry one just in case I feel like reaching for a ciggie. I think something like gum might be better here but I know my patches and I know they work, gum might be more immediate though and doesn’t necessitate rolling up ones shirt.
Thinking about a run tomorrow, thinking is good, running might not be.
