Lazy boy – Day twelve
Was up early and I just couldn’t face a run, it’s only a week into my fitness regime and although I am finding it it’s working and things are tightening up, I am however aware that you can overdo it at this stage (am I talking myself into this excuse, or what?) Anyway my muscles were feeling all hot and bothered last night and I still was a bit sore in the ankle, so I didn’t think it was too good a idea to get up early this morning – and bed was sooo nice too 🙂
Anyway I did do a bit on the weights and measures and although I am paddling against the current (smoking and trying to lose weight at the same time is quite the feat – I managed to put on stones once while giving up) it seems to be working. A quick check with the tape measure and I’m now down a half an inch in girth to 37″ around my belly and I’ve lost about a half a pound. “Only a half a pound” I hear you all cry…. well I’ll get out my failsafe urban myth trump card here and tell you, you know what’s coming don’t you…. wait for it wait for it……. muscle weighs more than fat. I take this as the gospel truth and will accept it to accommodate my measly half a pound drop, but I can feel the improvement already, bits that were wobblyish are now taut like a tiger and I can just feel myself getting fitter.
Smoking has all but faded as a memory, but I have to keep on my guard, weekends are usually quite fraught and one can find oneself easily reaching for the Marlboro Lights (or is it Gold now)… so just don’t think about them. I’ve saved nearly £100 according to my phone app and I almost have one more day to life according to it too, whoop de doop – said sarcastically.
Anyway my weight stat’s are:
11 stones 5.8 lbs
Visceral Fat 10
All a little better and a bit contradicting on the muscle vs fat weight challenge.
I was hoping to hop onto the rower today but I think my nod to fitness today will be to submit my final rowing stat’s to the Concept II website as today is the last day for submission of rowing data. I’ll be aiming to beat last year’s stat’s by a country mile this year. I actually caught some video footage of me when I was seriously erging (static rowing) and I did look rather toned, I could have done with being a bit trimmer but I was quite toned.
