Run in the sun
I’ll never be a weatherman, I expect a run in the wind and I get a run in the sun.
Basically I was over in Hartlepool this lunchtime, it’s near Seaton where I run and the weather was awful, it was all blustery and getting even windier, the temperature had been dropping all day and it just wasn’t nice. I returned to my office in Middlesbrough and when home time came I donned a couple of shirts and headed back to Seaton. Getting out of the car I thought it looked quite nice, but hang on I recalled… my previous experiences of nithering mornings wrapped in sunny sunshine were never correctly judged. Heeding this warning I kept the two shirts on (a t-shirt over a long sleeved top) and ran a rather warm and uncomfortably sweaty run.
Despite this though I made some good time and I think I posted my best time of the year. The wind was still there but it couldn’t make up its mind which way to blow, for most of the run it turned out to be a bit of an indecisive side wind for . Spotted a girl around 400 yards in the distance making a good pace, I reeled her in really really slowly, well she was fair cracking on a bit and as I was just about to pass her she peeled off on another route, grrr only a few more yards (ok metres) and I would have passed her for sure and then there’d have been that uncomfortable duelling to stay ahead, grrr but she was a worthy adversary. Anyway on the return leg I easily passed a couple who’d broken into a walk and I noticed on finishing how many more people seemed to be pacing up and down the front in comparison to when I was running. Perhaps they’re scared of little ol’ me, yessir.
Tried the idea I had for the facial flushing, a good wash and brush up in the morning, then I tried out some Nivea factor 30 after putting on a bit of moisturiser. The result wasn’t great and I went around all day with a big red shiny face. I tried some Piz Buin the night before but it was a bit smelly and I didn’t particularly relish the idea of shiny redness with a fly spray odour to go with it. Still hopefully this might stop the redness and I’ll only have to live with the reflectiveness. I think tomorrow I’ll give the moisturiser a miss and give the Nivea or some other product a go on its own.
Still really working on my teeth, it seems to be going very well though I think I’ll give it a month before I start moving my thumbs upwards.
Still my run in the sun proved a very good run and I was equipped with the proper protection too.
