Well where did that come from a real Captain Speedy time out of nowhere.
Finished work, got changed in the loos and headed over to Seaton. Nice afternoon, a few people making the most of the ok weather, not to warm not too cold and a bit of a breeze, nothing special for a holidaymaker but not bad for a runner.
Struck out down the seafront and for some reason I was running like… well like I was running quickly. Mind you I’m still not brilliant but I was moving at some pace and it’s good to know after the last couple of disappointing runs that I can get a head of speed up. Got to the third of the length marker and that was it I had to slow down, still though I was making a good pace even on the slowing down bit so something must have gone right with my running and I was starting to move again.
Actually when I’d been pulling up in the car park a few minutes before I started there’d been three guys running by and by the end of the 2nd third there they were, if they’d not veered off on another track I would have caught them despite probably being some half a mile behind them. I did pass a couple on the way out though and on the way back I passed them again.
The end of the lap was the lookout point (where I have my turning touchstone) and it was covered with young kids knocking back lemonade and ginger beer – yeah right – I had to jump through them to make the turn and my gasps of “excuse me” were met with general encouragement. The end of the run wasn’t so gracious though as I ran through some football playing youngsters the cry here was ” ‘it ‘im” which I believe was meant for my Captain Speediness.
Took a panorama by way of contrast to the early morning shots.
