Cyclists can be their own worst enemy.
I was at a crossroads the other morning and the lights on our cross went red. Y’know what coming don’t you, anyway this elderly chap (still fit, not a dodderer, just old) then proceeds on his bike to go right through the red and throwing caution to the wind he wobbles through all the speeding traffic flying perpendicular to his path. It wasn’t like other more responsible cyclists who at least have the regard to look for traffic and proceed accordingly, he just struck out to blindly to go through it while not being in control of his bike.
By the time he reached the other side the lights had all gone red and the green crossing lights were on, a girl stepped out infront of the cyclist and he shook his fist at her. Totally beautiful.
These were the same lights when when all were on red a young scamp rode straight through them and did a wheely as he crossed the crown of the crossroads. It was absolutely unmissable the reaction of all the parked drivers when he overcooked it and fell off backwards onto his bum.
