Up at the crack
Got up this morning even before my alarm clock was set to go off. I was busting for a pee and the dawn was a lovely red over the sea so I decided to make an early start and make up for it by jumping (as usual but longer) back into bed once I’d ran and showered.
Got out just after five in the morning (05:11:55) and ran along empty streets and road, through the empty dean, through the car park and back along the empty road and streets. Seriously though apart from the cars on the coast road there was not a living person to be seen, no runner, no dog walkers, not even a crazy person trying to abduct me (touching wood by the way) in the dene.
The run was great though and I made lots of progress since my last run, I got up to a good pace and my body felt good and strong, my lungs though couldn’t keep up with this fitness and I did slow down for hills and exhaustion. Still I was pretty pacey and I managed to do the serious downhill much better than before and I did the uphill sections well but not very fast… I’d say I did them confidently though.
There were a few bunnies around though and one did that strange thing of running ahead of me and not ducking into a bush that was reminiscent of my squirrel chasing escapades from years back.
Anyway the sun was up, it was lovely and quiet, the sea looked marvellous and I did a very good run. The only things against it were the very early morning, the creepiness of it all and that I nearly turned my ankle while running along Ocean Road, but I didn’t.
