Four lapping laps
My first four lapper (well four lengths) of Seaton, I thought it was about time to join the big boys and get out there and do a serious run. The Great North Run is only around 6 weeks away so it’s pretty important that I get some distance under my belt and start getting used to knackered knees and angry ankles.
Anyway what looked to be the loveliest morning in the UK turned into a not soooo great running morning. The thing about the Seaton run is that it is fast, it is exposed and it is windy. This morning on the run out it was a fast following wind encouraging speedy running, not good on a long run, and it just isn’t cooling, this with a desert like sun casting rays down was not a great thing. So one way toooo hot and the other was a seriously strong headwind, this was all not good at all.
Anyway it was my first run of this distance of the season so I allowed myself the luxury of a slow jog all the way, this playing into the hands of getting up to distance and also allowing me something easy to beat in later runs.
Some people out and about, passed only lady jogger and even passed a bloke on a bike who was piddling slow but he was still someone on a bike.
Feeling proud of my achievement but feeling a bit sore too.
