Down to the doctors
It was interesting to have a doctor’s appointment yesterday.
My partner had spotted my face dropping the other week and I’d been noticing I’d had a very pronounced redness in my face with a prickly feeling in my skin. In fact when I took my supplements in the morning I’d noticed that the redness became very prickly, I could feel my face heating up and my neck got very itchy.
I’d gone to the doctors the previous week, I wasn’t too bothered about it all but he seemed concerned and he took some blood samples.
This week I went in and the first thing he did was pronounce my blood samples as being totally clear.
I was the last appointment of the day so we got chatting. He said for a man on my age I was as fit as they come and that I should keep up the running, keep up the 5:2 diet, maybe a couple of supplements such as Glucosamine but to cut the rest out.
I must admit I’ve got to agree with him, I’d stopped taking the supplements prior to my first appointment a week back and I’d taken his advice then to eat better and healthier, specifically breakfasts. I was now feeling very well, in fact I was feeling better than I had done in a while. Not only this Doc Shashi and I had a very constructive conversation, he is rather a fount of knowledge and a fun guy to boot.
I’m now a firm believer in trying to get my vit’s from good food, a healthy meal in the morning and keeping the supplements down to a minimum.
As Sheldon Cooper mentioned, vitamins make for very expensive urine – it does tend to go through you quickly.
