Not a great run this morning.
Not a great run this morning.
I’m working on a Sunday, my sis’ and bro’-in-law are staying at my folks, I’m sleeping on the couch and Izzi and Anna were due over.
I say not a good run but the fact that I’m the first to get up after being the last to go to bed and I’m sleeping on a couch. Well I think I’ve done really well even getting out for a run.
Got up and out into the car before anyone had even got up, headed to my favourite run haunt of Seaton and darted off down the front.
Now I say darted and it felt like darting but my watch didn’t have darting at all on its mind. I think it thought more along the jogging lines than darting ones. I thought I was piling along, I had a stiff wind at my back but perhaps the problem was with the large stiff whisky I had to round the night off last night, after a lager and a stout too. So while I thought I was cutting a fine figure streaking along the sea front then perhaps the reality wasn’t there.
It might have been a watch fudge, but I doubt it.
Very quiet though this morning, only dog walkers and a few cyclists. There were other runners but I only spotted them when I was on the run back. One very nice runner too, aherm.
Anyway I did my best on the way back, after my disappointing start to keep up a reasonable time despite running into a bad headwind. Still notwithstanding all my efforts and my illusions of my running prowess my watch indicated a big fat 8 minute plus per mile at the end of the run.
Still it was a nice run, the weather was a bit windy, but it was getting on to be warm, the sun was up and I did annoy a lot of people with a barrage of rampant good mornings which most actually replied to. So not a bad morning at all.
