Crimdon Dene early bird
Couldn’t be bothered to take a run on Tuesday evening after a full day at work, so after a relaxing evening at my parents I decided to get up early and take in the Crimdon Dene run.
It was a shame I’d forgotten to pack my stopwatch as I thought I could knock spots off my times from last year, however the lack of watch afforded the luxury of a guilt free jog.
It was rather a crisp and cold morning and it did take a lot of time to warm up, getting into the Dene itself there was a bit of a frost even. Earlier on in the run though it proved worth braving the coldness as on the end of Ocean Road I was privy to the moon rising over the horizon just at the end of the rise of the street. It was quite amazing.
Later in the run there was another spectacular view out over the sea from the Coast Road near the railway bridge, opposite the farm track. The sun was just rising and it looked rather gorgeous.
The treats of getting up early for a run.
No time recorded but not a bad run, I say jog but it did have its tricky moments in running up some of the inclines that I’d not normally experience on the Seaton run. I was quite pleased how well I paced up the one out of the Dene floor, I’m getting rather good at all this.
