25th July 2014 Run
Got a flier from the college, we historically call it a gas leak, someone senior in theory proclaims that they can smell gas and we can all go home, this is a bit of a perk for all those members of staff working through the summer, it’s always very welcome.
Anyway we normally finish a little earlier on a Friday at around 4:30, this gas leak happened at 3:30 and gave me enough impetus to motivate me to get to Seaton after work and then a quick visit to my folks for a burger and a shower before heading back to the hills.
Anyway today was absolutely glorious weather throughout the country, Seaton was a bit overcast but still lovely and packed with holidaymakers. I had a bit of trouble parking and had to walk to the start point but not too far.
Despite the heat the run was great, the run out had a cooling light headwind and the return had a slight breeze that barely got in the road of running but gave a bit of cooling where needed. Despite not running for a little while I put in a good time and a good pace, I’d had a bit of trouble with my back recently from filling a skip and moving around tons of gear in my house, but that had settled. Couple that with my rowing, a bit of weight lost on my 5:2 diet and 39 days off the fags and there might be an explanation somewhere in there for the nice pace that I put in.
Still a good pacey run, no surprises nothing bad, the new shoes seem to be loosening up a bit and all is well in running world.
Finished the run, lots of police around for some reason, so had a quick drink and headed over to my lovely parents for some nosh.
